February and March 2010 will see the ABLE 2 Project offering a third session of part-time short term training for small groups of learners at the Community Resource Centre in Sechelt.
This computer use training opportunity includes computer tutoring with practical business or workplace applications.
The program also involves development of self-awareness in terms of workplace essential skills. It has supported clients of Community Futures Entrepreneurs with Disabilities in accessing business learning. For further info contact Diane at Community Futures: 604-885-1959.

This free eight-week part-time program was conducted from April through June 2009 in Madeira Park at Harbour Learning Centre on Gonzales Road. The program was designed to provide the opportunity for individuals to learn new and essential skills to find work or make a transition towards a more flexible work environment and remain in the Pender Harbour area.

To help tailor Essential Skills workshops designed for our region, from March to May 2009 input was invited from employers regarding what they recognize to be training needs in their workplaces. The results of the survey will be available soon.
